Rock Climbers

Rock Climbers

Whenever I see men and women climbing mountains or children climbing those rock walls, they seem so thrilled and determined in reaching the top.  Shouldn’t we be that excited to take a journey to higher heights in God, to get to know him in a greater dimension?

Just to think that we have access to our Father in Heaven and that He is not so far off like the top of a mountain, to me that is so amazing.  Just think about it, God gave us His son Jesus and He is the Rock of our salvation. He is the chief cornerstone of the church and for those who want to go deeper and higher in God we can make our ascent to heavenly places.

When we pray we are told in God’s word that we can go boldly into the throne of grace, making our petitions known and He hears us and answers us. We can feel God’s presence and we are lifted up to new plateaus.  (Plateaus are elevated places)

I am not a Rock climber but I am asking the Lord to take me to higher heights and deeper places in Him so in a spiritual sense I am a Rock Climber. In prayer we can say: “Lord, take me to the Rock that is higher than I”.

We have to know that when Jesus leads us up the cliffs He will equip us completely for the strenuous climb. All we have to do is stay focused on the journey so we do not stumble along the path as we reach for that mountain.

Moses literally climbed a mountain to meet with God and He met him there, God gave him the Ten Commandments that we have today. God wants to meet with us too. He wants us to take an adventure, to come to the Rock, Jesus the Son of God. What are you waiting for? Let’s go rock climbing!

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer."  Psalm 19:14

"For He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you in all your    ways.  They will support you with their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone"  Psalm 91:11-12

He will deliver us out of our troubles as we journey with Him, He will send ministering angels to help us.
