Maggie's Christmas Wish

John 3:16For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son,
so that everyone who believes in Him
will not perish but have eternal life."

I wrote the following when I first got up this Christmas morning..... Nope, I'm
surely no 'Longfellow', but these are my thoughts
on this wonderful day, how
amazing His life was, and what
He did for us.  Praise the Lord.

It's bright and early on Christmas morn,
Was it 60 degrees when Jesus was born?
Was out in the dessert, yet I think 'no',
Regardless, why do we always want snow?
Maybe because with a layer of white,
Seems that famous star, so bright.......
Cleansed the world of condemning sin,
And promises of a new life begin.
'White as snow', as the old saying goes,
Love our enemies, forgive our foes.
Could these commandments really seem coy,
That for them, that perfect Baby Boy
Would suffer and die on an old rugged cross.
What a shame and pity, what a loss?
Sometimes I wonder about our great King,
If He looks down at us while the angels sing
And ponders if His death was really for naught.
That through His death, our lives were bought.
So many live their lives, His sacrifice ignore,
And only at Christmas remember the Door
We were given to offer us everlasting life.
To free us from turmoil and everyday strife.
If we'd only remember through that Baby Boy
We'd find happiness and eternal joy.
So today I'm wishing you the very best,
That throughout your constant, everyday quest
God's richest blessings would rain down you,
With His promise and His hope so true,
For peace, happiness, and inner joy
You'd trust and lean on that sweet Baby Boy.
